Baby’s Got a Brand New Ride!
by Lisa on Jul.23, 2007, under Natalia
OK, well it’s not brand new, it’s a used Subaru Outback station wagon, but hey, that’s just semantics… this past weekend, we found a car to buy. We will get it at the end of August.
I am starting to realize that I might really, actually, be a grown-up now. I have a house, a station wagon, and in 7 weeks, I’ll have a baby. It seems like just yesterday I was in high school going on ramen noodle runs before calculus, or in college going to midnight organ/a capella concerts, or just starting my teaching career (and working nights and weekends). Now, I am in the middle of this stage of life that I always thought looked good, but was for people older than me. (Maybe I should have taken a hint at the whole turning 30 thing…)
But seriously, it is very exciting to be getting everything ready for this next big adventure. Now we have a place to put the stroller, so we can come visit all of you and go on long walks.
On a different note, I am really enjoying my summer camp job, though it can be exhausting at times. Still it keeps me busy and keeps my mind off my ever expanding stomach. Most days I feel great (though some I do wish that Roger could take a turn with the whole child brearing thing…) I can still see my feet (though I have to bend forward a little) I can still tie my shoes, and the summer has been a fairly mild one so far (fingers crossed!)
I have been catching up with friends, getting as many visits in as I can before I am much, much busier. It has been great to see those of you I have seen, and I hope to see the rest of you all soon!
That’s all for now, I’ll try to get up some new belly pictures soon!
It’s an outie now!
by Lisa on Jul.05, 2007, under Natalia
Well, not much news to report. Everything went well at the doctor’s office this week. She said that I am not too big yet… (which I think implies that I will be in the future)
LiLo seems to like a certain position, with it’s back on my left side and this enables it to kick and punch me on the right side. Sometimes you can actually see my stomach move! Quite impressive.
My once innie belly button is now either a flatie or an outie depending on how I am sitting or standing.
My summer camp is going well. The kids come on Monday and we are spending this week training counselors and getting the site ready. I am very excited to actually have the kids there because that is way more fun that paperwork, phone calls, unpacking and organizing. Though I am sure I will be exhausted next week. But that’s the fun of it.
So, here is a photo of the new belly button, and I will try to get up photos of LiLo’s room and our gardening work this weekend.

New poll and a bit of shameless self promotion
by Roger on Jun.28, 2007, under Natalia, work
So by request of Lisel I have added a poll to our blog. Now you can cast your vote online. Check the sidebar (you might have to scroll down a bit).
I will probably at some point (when the name list has been reduced to a small number) I’ll put up a poll so people can vote for what they like. We will end up naming it whatever we decide but it’ll be fun to see what people think.
On to the shameless self promotion.
For a few months now I’ve been writing an article for an online publication called Hotel Executive. The write up is a simplified analysis of the monthly data we collect on the top hotels’ websites. The article is nothing special but I figure if it’s being published I might as well get people to read it. So if you’re bored and need something to help you fall asleep click the link…Hotel Executive article
Don’t forget to cast your vote!
