Getting everyone up to date…

by Lisa on Jun.18, 2007, under Natalia

Well, since my oh-so-techinically-gifted husband has set up this nice blog, I am going to write a long post to get everyone up to date and then I will try to write whenever I can.

So, we found out on January 6 that I am pregnant. January 6th is el Dia de los Reyes Magos, a Mexican holiday celebrating the arrival of the 3 Kings. On this day children leave shoes outside their door and los Reyes Magos bring them gifts. Without sounding entirely corny, we like to think that we also got a gift this year.

For a week I felt fine, and worried, am I really pregnant? Then I started feeling not so hot. I never actually threw up, but felt like it quite often. I lost interest in most foods with flavor and had to pee at least once a night. But, after three months, this went away.

Here is the first ultrasound taken at 10 weeks.

Here is what I looked like at 16 weeks (end of March). I was very excited to actually look pregnant in this outfit. When I wore normal shirts, it was one of those, is she pregnant or just kind of round at the middle things…

In April I turned the big 3-0!! Roger planned me a surprise party which I was COMPLETELY surprised by!! He wanted to see if he could out-plan the master planner and he certianly did.

May was a busy month. My brother, Erik, got married. I was the flower girl (a life long dream of mine…) If you want to see photos of the pregnant flower girl, as well as the bride and groom, etc. go to pictage.com. I also finished my Master’s at Wheelock. And Roger went to England and Spain to visit friends and for a wedding.

And now, here we are, in June. I am officially in my third trimester and there is no doubt I am pregnant. Strangers can tell, though only one person has touched my belly without asking so far… We have been doing lots of work in our garden, it is really coming together. Anyone in the area is welcome to stop by for a tour (we promise not to put you to work… at least not without asking permission first!)

The baby is very active, but usually at night and in the morning, so if you want to feel it kick, roll over, or poke me in the side, at this point, you might have to have a sleepover at our house.

As I said, I will try to write here as often as I can. If you are dying for an update and I have not written in a while, send me an e-mail and I will try to get to it.
