New poll and a bit of shameless self promotion
by Roger on Jun.28, 2007, under Natalia, work
So by request of Lisel I have added a poll to our blog. Now you can cast your vote online. Check the sidebar (you might have to scroll down a bit).
I will probably at some point (when the name list has been reduced to a small number) I’ll put up a poll so people can vote for what they like. We will end up naming it whatever we decide but it’ll be fun to see what people think.
On to the shameless self promotion.
For a few months now I’ve been writing an article for an online publication called Hotel Executive. The write up is a simplified analysis of the monthly data we collect on the top hotels’ websites. The article is nothing special but I figure if it’s being published I might as well get people to read it. So if you’re bored and need something to help you fall asleep click the link…Hotel Executive article

Baby Stuff
by Roger on Jun.25, 2007, under Natalia
One thing that everyone keeps asking me is how I feel about the whole pregnancy/parent-to-be thing.
I must say that I don’t think about it much. It could be because I’m too busy trying to keep up with what’s going on today or more likely because I just don’t think about things that far in advance…that’s Lisa’s department.
Having said that this past weekend I was a little closer to realizing what awaits me. We decided to go to one of those baby stores to check out strollers and also to have a look at what else there is for baby. I soon found out there is way too much stuff that babies need. And I wondered how a person that has just come to this world could need so much stuff?
The one thing I am excited to get is the stroller, that’s the only thing that I can really use -not that I’m self involved or anything. I did try to see if I could get away with using baby’s towels but no dice.
For a couple that isn’t so much into having ’stuff’ we are about to get a lot of it. Maybe babies should come with some sort of rebate or gift certificate for the stuff they will need. At the very least they should come with a list of what they do and don’t like so you don’t have to go buy the bottles that are ‘bla bla bla’ just to find out that baby only likes the kind that are ‘bla bla bla plus’.
I should stop dwelling on that and focus on the fact that we also begun – yes six months in we’ve only begun – to think of baby names. We have a couple of contenders both for boy and girl and I’m happy to report that Taco or Effen did not make the list. I’m not sure what we’ll end up with but I have a feeling that even though we have not decided, the list is very short. Maybe we’ll just call it Undecided.
Grand Prix du Canada
by Roger on Jun.22, 2007, under Canada, F1
Well Lisa probably mentioned the prettyness of Montreal but the real sites were at the Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve. Mike and I got tickets to see the Gran Prix and it was just simply amazing.I decided to get us tickets for the general admission and I must say I was a little weary about lining up to snatch a place in line. As it turns out it worked out pretty nicely for us.The one thing I would say is that if you want to actually see the cars and be able to follow the race you should get an assigned seat for the weekend. However nothing can beat being next to the track when the cars go flying by. The video will give you an idea of what I mean.
